Although these vehicles often get mis-labeled as “Monster Trucks”, they are some of the most environmentally friendly vehicles off-road. The large tires help spread out our weight so they have less pressure on the ground causing less disturbance. These are the only vehicles with certifications that allow for travel across the sensitive arctic tundra in the summer time in both the USA and Canada. Low pressure tires have mechanical and efficiency advantages compared to tracked vehicles, while gaining all the advantages tracks offer when we deflate the tires. The vehicles have economical small diesel engines that burn about 1.2 gallon per hour of operation (which is more efficient than most highway vehicles). The air system uses exhaust gasses to inflate the large tires giving you unlimited air for air pressure changes to the tires while on the go.
